A friend just started a restaurant and would like me to bake some desserts for him. I know how to bake well but I dont know how to make it last and to taste just as fresh a few days later. If I have a cake or cupcakes how do I keep the frosting good and the cupcakes moist? Doesnt the fridge dry the cake out if you put it in there? How do bakeries keep things overnight without them tasting old?

Ok I dropped my Iphone in water this morning and didnt realize it for about a minute. It powered down and the light to the camera came on for a few minutes. The weird part is that it got very warm at the top and then the warmth started to move down it. I have it sitting in rice right now trying to dry it out. The light came on again a few hour later then shut off again. Has anyone ever had this happen before where the phone heated up? Any suggestions? This phone is only two weeks old! I am so mad at myself.

A friend from Canada gave me some corn sugar. Looks somewhere between regular cane sugar and powdered sugar. I just tried to make brownies with it and they came out horrible. Can someone please tell me how or if you can bake with it. What is the conversion? Thanks

Ok I need some help with my daughter. She is 10 years old and in the last two years has more than doubled her weight. Her eating patterns have not changed. Her exercise has increased. She plays softball, swims on a team and dances. The doctor has run thyroid tests and sugar tests and both have come back normal. Someone mentioned to me that there is another thyroid test that is done in Canada but that they don't tend to run in the US because it is so expensive. Has anyone else run into this problem and can help point me in the direction we need to go to get the right tests run and help her. I hate to see her upset about her weight. I also need to know that I have exhausted every route to help her. I don't know if it will help relate it to your situation but she also suffers from nocturnal inertia and some impulsivety problems. Any constructive help would be greatly appreciated

My children's upstairs toilet has a foul smell coming from it. It almost smells like a mouse died in the wall or something. The smell gets worse when you flush the toilet. Does anyone have a clue as to what is causing this? Would it be the ring/seal? The house is only a year old and both girls tend to sleep downstairs in the extra bedroom most nights so the bathroom doesn't even get a lot of use. Any constructive help would be appreciated.

I am looking to find a bread maker that makes standard sized bread. A horizontal loaf that I can slice to the size of store bought bread. I have an older bread maker but the loaf is hugely high and makes slices that are way to big for a sandwich. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am trying to cut wheat and gluten out of our diets as we are pretty sure two of us have an allergy. Can anyone tell me for making homemade breads and baked goods what flours might be best to try? I am looking to find out if you can use rice flour or almond flour in a 1-1 ratio replacing white flour. I would like if possible to not have to use exotic ingredients. Most of what I am finding calls for something like 1/2 rice flour 1/2 wheat flour which isnt going to work. What has worked for you? Or do you know a great site that can guide me through measurement replacements. Thanks

I am looking for a GREAT recipe for cornbread muffins. We recently went to a potluck where someone brought the best muffins. When I asked for the recipe she said it was her grandmothers and she promised never to share it. They were crisp to almost crunchy on the outside but just firmer than cornbread pudding on the inside. I am guessing the tins were greased with bacon grease. Can anyone help me out here?

I am trying to find out how professionals make really stiff whipped cream. I am not looking how to make whipped cream itself. I know how to that. I am looking to find out how they keep it so stiff. If you go to the Outback or get a pie. The whipped cream you get on it will hold its shape for hours/days. Mine though the taste is wonderful doesnt have the same stiffness or staying power. Whats the secret?

I need some ideas with what we can do with my husband on Father's day. We go out to eat and to the movies on a regular basis. we are not a real outdoors family and I have to include a 5 year old. Any fun unique ideas?

My daughter is 9 years old and having some real issues with social interaction. I have known for a while that she does not have many friends and that she is immature for he age but I am just starting to realize how deep this problem goes. I happen to see a letter she wrote to a friend and it broke my heart. She was saying how last school year she had no friends and this year she had very few. She also said people thought she was fat, a freak and annoying. I have noticed her lack of friends but she has never mentioned it bothering her so I figured if it didn't bother her I shouldn't let it bother me. Guess I was way off base. The only things I have noticed and have tried nicely to correct in her social behavior is her hanging on people both literally and figuratively. If a friend tries to hug her she hangs on and wont let go leading to people not wanting to hug or touch her. If she gets friends she gets so wound up that she wants to be with them 24/7. She also doesn't know when to calm down. She will get something in her head to play and wont stop mentioning it she goes on and on and on about it until people are annoyed with her. help please I want people to love her as much as I do.
