My son overhauls dodge an jeep 4.7 V8's in tulsa oklahoma for $1800.00 , Do you think he should charge more?

    Ive used that guy before on my jeep....he put a new crack kit in (which came with new bearings), rear main an front main, checked the rods for spec, reringed the pistions, put a new oil pump in, had the heads milled an checked with new head gaskets...it was done 2yrs ago an ive never had an issue....an installed it all for around 2,100 bucks

    What exactly do you mean by "overhauls"? Just new seals and a good cleaning? Or full out seals, machining the block, fresh crank, new lifters, etc etc.?

    $1800 Seems like a good price both for profit, and for the buyer's pocket.

    if he replaced everything in it that was needed he couldn't have done it for that not unless hes only charging a very small amount of labor,labor on most of them runs around 1000 bucks and i know the parts cost almost that much,he didn't charge enough,good luck.
