What is wrong with Yahoo Instant Messenger 10?

For some time now people have been asking the same question with very little help - so, lets try again to get an answer - Does anyone know what is wrong with Yahoo Instant Messenger 10 lately. You can type a message during a conversation and when you hit enter to send - NO text appears in either window. This has been going on for some time now - any one know the answer..or what the problem is.?

There is so many possibilities to this question  -malware -support software -IE problems 
etc etc

Just for the record the Yahoo Messenger uninstall software is not worth a light and if you used a program like "Revo" you would appreciate the amount of files and Registry entries that get left behind after using it from the control panel. In Advanced Mode it scans the C drive and Registry allowing you to delete everything it finds omitting the possibility of conflicts with the incoming software.

I've given up with Messenger 10 - I came to the conclusion that it was having a fight with my anti virus and the two just weren't compatible 

That's just my guess
