Travis Pastrana's first NASCAR race?

what did you think of his first race at the Toyota ALL-star Shootout saturday night?

He qualified 20th out of 40 drivers, ran 15th to 20th all race, got minor damage to the right front in the middle of the first 100 lap segment but got it repaired and came back up through the field, went a lap down towards the end of the second 100 lap segment but got it back when the leader had a flat right rear tire, avoided the big wreck in the 25 lap shootout, and came home 6th for those that didnt watch it.

Luck definately had alot to do with it but that is part of racing. so how did he do? Were you impressed?

BQ: How do you think his first Nationwide race will fare later this year?

Update:

I did see DJ race and it was a good finish but he has raced in the Busch series for a couple of years now so the odds are that he should have finished good. The same with Steven Wallace. The reason I went with Pastrana was because it was his first NASCAR Sanctioned race ever. Not to mention he had not even been on the track with another car until the day before the race.

I was at the Toyota allstar shoot out this past saturday night, he did pretty good, managed to stay out of all those wrecks in the race (thanks to his spotter Matt Crafton). I think it will be alittle harder once he drives his first Nationwide race later this yr I think he might get a top 15.

I loved it! He is a Maryland boy (where I am from) and grew up 20 minutes from me. I must say he did well avoiding wrecks and Matt really was a good spotter for him. I think it was the last segment how he passed those cars (split them) now that was cool.

He debuts 7-20-11 I want to say at Indy (Nationwide) I am hoping for a top 10. I think he will get a top 15.
