which bank is good for checking and saving account in the US?
i am planning to open a checking and saving account.i went to capital one back and they told me that i have to keep a min. of 1,500$ other wise there is a daily fee. i am looking for a bank that has min. of these sort of payment and good for taking student and home loans in the future.and of course reasonable interest payment for my saving. do you have any suggestions?

Big boy banks are being bullies and think they can get away with charging fees for checking accounts.
Chase, Citi, and Bank of America are also starting to charge fees.
This will be short lived.
People are flocking to smaller regional banks and credit unions that don't charge fees.
Google small banks in your area and see what they have to offer.
If ATM access is important to you keep this in mind, since smaller banks don't have as many ATM locations.
Credit Unions and small banks will treat you right.
Note: If you are looking for future home loans, I hope you have more than $1,500.
