It looks like the food stamps and medicaid were fraudulently obtained - someone lied to get it, that's fraud, and it all has to be repaid or the fraudster can go off to jail. But if you did not support your daughter, yet claim her, it's you who get into trouble for fraud. So who is really doing what here? Any fraud - either on income tax or food stamps/medicaid, or both - has got to stop or the lot of you can end up in huge and very costly trouble. Stop cheating your fellow taxpayers, and get your respective messes squared away pronto.

She will lose her fraudulently obtained government assistance and YOU BOTH will be on the hook for paying back what wasnt yours to get in the first place.

She'll probably be very disappointed in you. Don't do it.
