I don't know in order of popularity, but I'm guessing it involves the Pomeranian, Chihuahua, Dachshund, Maltese, French Bulldog, Boston Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Toy Poodle, Pug, and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. If you are looking for the smallest, it is obviously one of the toy breeds.

Don't get a "designer breed" or "teacup, micro, or mini" dog because these are all from puppymills and backyard breeders - though they should be cheap enough for you. If you are looking for something cheap, go to a shelter. There are rescue groups that specialize in Toy dogs or a certain breed, about 25% of dogs in shelters are purebred.

    I breed and show Pomeranians.

    The smallest are

    Pomeranian

    Maltese

    Chihuahua

    Yorkies

    Sydney Silkies

    Papilions

Often i see chihuahua who are bigger than my cats!

my dogs are smaller than my cats and all my poms are under 8 inches in hieght, Id dread to see a purebred at 11 inches! it would be HUGE and not suitable for the show ring.

the cheapest? well any person wanting to get rid of a sickly dog to some unsuspecting person will be selling them cheap... My advice, go find a reputable breed who shows and health tests her animals, and save up to buy from there, or sometimes you can get a ex show/breeding dog for price of desexing.

Yep a Jack Russel they are strong little canines with the heart of a huge canines. Or a Miniature Bull Terrier they arrive in truly a small length now a days. The Jacks are extremely smart intense potential canines with the heart of a loin & mind of monkey I swear, lol. The min Bullies are very reminiscent of a familiar Bull Terrier opinionated & obdurate yet dependable as.

I have rescued many dogs of all sizes. The last dog I actually bought is my three pound hairless chihuahua. He is the most loving, most loyal, most devoted dog I've ever had or seen. Money is not a factor when it comes to my animals.

if price is a consideration for you , then dont get a dog. get a game boy or something, dont put a price on friendship, loyalty, and unconditional love. because that is what you get from a dog.
