Is stupidity rewarded in this time and age?

It seems now that stupidity reigns supreme on t.v. and everywhere, nobody seems like they want to be smart anymore. Everybody seems to be consumed by looking fake and talking like a idiot it disgusts me.

Good for you! That is the reaction that more people should have. Yes- a fair size part of our society is getting dumber, less sophisticated, less interested in knowledge and challenge. I don't know how much we reward it, but we tolerate it far too much and compensate for the problems it brings for those people.

500 channels on TV, and about 475 are idiot fodder.

Unfortunately yes. We recently got the Kardashians here in Australia. I was appalled. We could be watching something better like "Family Guy". People seem to be inventing things that are more stupid to get onto tv.

Your last sentence is a run-on and it should be "an" idiot, smartie!

Laugh, silly! I'm just messing with you.

Honest answer: Stupidity isn't necessarily rewarded, but it's certainly tolerated more than it should be.

Sarah Palin managed to be a politician. People ACTUALLY think she's knows what she's talking about. So ya.
