what to do with left over oil after frying something?

i want to make something with it, other then reusing it, can i use it for gravy?

give me some ideas and recipes

Update:

am not asking you what i can do it it.. am asking what i can MAKE!!!! with it.

so please... dont tell me to reuse it, or ick throw it away. give me a recipe or dont bother giving me an asnwer.

    Get rid of it. You don't want to use used oil for cooking, because it will increase your bad cholesterol level. I usually throw away my oil after I use it to fry something for 2-3 times. How much money will I be saving if my life or my loved one's life is in jeopardy?

    Depending on the oil you can make some wonderfull gravies, bechamel sauces, and bases for soups.

    Take some leftover bacon grease (just cause it's freaking yummy), toss in some flour (cook till golden blonde), thin out with milk, add potatoes, celery, onion and you've got a lovely potatoe soup.

    My mommy's recipe. It's a huge hug.

    It all really depends on the type of oil and what was cooked in it last.

    Anything that onions have been cooked in will taste like onion, so keep that in mind.

    Anything with a strong smell will make the oil take on those properties.

    And be carefull with garlic, cause even if no actual garlic pieces burned, the oils that have mingled with the cooking oil can still scorch, causing bitterness.

    (btw, bacon grease is wonderfull in anything. Take frozen green beans, onions, garlic and bacon. Fry the bacon up, pour out all but 3 tbsps of the grease, and sautee your onions, then the garlic. Add the green beans. Cook to your likeness, crumble bacon on top.

    HOLY cow it's amazing. Don't need much salt either.

    If you have a significant amount and it is not badly discolored or burnt, you might consider saving it til the next deep fry meal. Invest in some fry oil filters and after cooling the oil slightly (warm oil strains better), strain it and store it covered in the fridge. If disposing seems nesseccary, cool it completely and throw into the trash with other food scraps, or even compost it if that is an option for you.

    it is actually common practice to use the oil you've fried/sauteed something in as the base for the gravy. for example, if you've fried (& i'm not talking about deep frying in a fryer, i'm talking about pan frying) chicken in a pan, you can take the chicken out, hold it in the oven, maybe add a little butter to the pan & melt it, then add some flour to the oil/butter to make a roux, add some chicken stock, seasoning & you'd have a nice gravy.

    Depends on what you cooked in it. If it's still pretty clear, save it in a metal can, seal the can with foil or something that dependable, and you can use it again.

    Strain it through one or more coffee filters, and fry again.
