Survey: Have you dropped your laptop? What brand is it?

I'm clumsy and drop my laptop a lot. I have a Toshiba but the hardware is going downhill. I've dropped it a lot, including it slamming shut as it falls. My son has also thrown up on it and I've spilled stuff on it. I know you're gonna say the hardware problems are my fault, which I know, but I don't want another Toshiba. I want another computer under $600 that will manage a few falls every once in a while.

What is your experience?

I have a Mac. It's awesome. Beyond awesome actually. And it's taken quite a few spills. Once I tripped over my power cord in my dorm room and instead of the power cord just coming out of the computer, it pulled my whole computer off my bed. Another time, I went to put the computer in its case and I thought I zipped the case up. Well, I didn't. I went to pick the computer up to put in my bag and grabbed it by the case instead of the computer itself. I was moving fast and the computer slid out of the case and literally bounced a bit on the ground. It has a little bump from that spill but nothing that affects the performance of the machine, or the outward appearance of it unless you really look for it.

And those are just the worst drops - not counting the little ones I just don't even think about. Good luck!

I have an Acer, and I've never dropped it, nor have I spilled anything on it,

but it's lasted me pretty long. (4 years, though it's going down hill now)

Acer's are pretty nice and pretty cheap, BUT they're not the nicest...

So if you want something that's cheap, and good, then I would go

with an Acer. But if you're looking for GREAT, then I would find another

brand....My mom has an ASUS, and she's dropped it and it was fine..

However, she has a netbook...so it's super tiny.

If you want a magical answer.....GOOD LUCK.....Not going to happen, if you abuse and are careless with it........

I've had an HP Dell computer for 6 years......Am careful......It's worked well for me...

Next time I will get a Mac....BUT only because it have Better features.......

Just remember.....a computer is like a relationship...If You use and abuse it long enough, it will eventually stop working
