Gary Moore passed away today. What are some of your favorite bands/songs/projects featuring this rock genious?

That is one of those news that I never thought I'd read.

Gary Moore has been one of my fave guitarists ever, he was such a talented and intense performer. His guitar playing was outstanding and I also loved the way he sang.

Unfortunately i'm on my school library which blocks youtube, His whole wembley 2004 concert was amazing yet easily the defining moment was his cover of ''Red House'' by Hendrix.

Only two times have i thought somebody has beat hendrix & thats Roy Buchanans Hey Joe + G.Moores red house.

The news hit me like a ton of bricks, can't say i was even a huge fan but being irish myself its a huge loss to our living culture. I'd be amazed if over the next few years a plaque/statue or such wasn't set up or even his own spot on our wall of fame in Temple Bar Dublin. (lynotts up there far as i recall + has a statue 5 minute walk away).

My fav thing about him though was his control, the guy could play blisteringly fast like any good metal guitarist, but he knew when to not play & when to slow/speed up his unique blues style. Certainly one of a rare kind in the blues genre.

Though he may have died young, his contribution to the music world will live on.

Few musicians obtain this legacy. May he rest in peace, knowing he has left this world a better place.

I'm shocked and sad that he died so young!

He was my 2nd Favorite guitarist and I have mostly all of his albums.

Nobody played the blues with as much soul and passion as he did.

"Still Got the Blues" is my favorite.
