Are there any excercises to strengthen fingers for guitar playing?
I'm learning to play the guitar and I'm noticing a difference between the finger strengths of my left and right hands, being right handed I use it for most things so of course the left has weaker fingers and they aren't as flexible and accurate as those of the right. Are there any excercises that I could do when it comes to this for not only the guitar but also in typing?

Hello there,
Most guitar players use warm up exercises to limber up their fingers and get them stretched out and ready to play. Those same exercises are good for building up strength and dexterity in your fingers.
Joe Satriani talks briefly about it in this video

He also does some warm up exercises in this video

Arpeggios. RH (for right hand): Place with your thumb on the 6th string (lowest sounding string) Then your index on the 3rd String your middle finger on the 2nd String and your ring finger on the 1st String (the highest sounding string) And pluck them in that order back and forth. This process is called "arpeggios" You shoud hear a pleasant sound. A great song that presents this meathod is: Spanish Romance Click on the link below to see it. It's safe. Another song that uses Arpeggios in it's intro is "nothing else matters" by Metallica. It's a great song. Practice this for a while and as you learn scales along the way it will greatly help.

So..
A great online guitar course with thousands of videos and a step-by-step method is http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=554. It's really great. In my opinion the best guitar course available online both for beginners/intermediates and advanced users.

There are no "exercises," but there is one way to make playing the guitar easier-practice. Eventually your fingers will form calluses, and it will no longer hurt as much to play. Each time I get lessens I ask the same question, and got the same answer I gave you. Good luck with the lessons.

Hey I see that you are looking for some online guitar lessons. Have you seen the Jamorama website which is apparently very good. At the moment they also have 6 free lessons for you so that may be a site that you could look at .

Do scales and lots of them, it will learn you to stretch. Also, play on a steel string acoustic, you have to work harder than electric, i learned Barre chords on an acoustic for the strength in my index finger.
