I think Paul Menard could be a sleeper pick for the 500. At Daytona its anybody's race. I hope Paul does well so everyone would get off his back about his dad buying him a ride. He is with a very well established team now in RCR. He did run pretty decent last year while driving for RPM.

Paul has shown vast improvement over the last few years, starting out on family money for sponsorship and getting steadily improving teams to race with. With RCR he will have top quality equipment and backing. Last year he showed vast improvement, so he has a chance at Daytona, albeit slim, but with the right luck and his position 3 laps from the finish it's a crap-shoot. I wish him Luck & a Safe Race.

I'll give him 18th at best!
He's not a star driver, BUT, in the last couple years he has shown considerable amount of improvement!
Know that he's in a Chevy, I think he will show even more improvement, and almost win, but I highly doubt him winning the Daytona 500! Their are way better super speedway racers in the field!

Racing has always been a rich kids sport (not early NASCAR).. People buy in either with their own money, or somebody elses.. That said, Paul has improved over the years to become a genuine threat whenever he's in a car that will perform.. His days of being a one car obstetrical are gone, and he has become a very good driver..

Only if the top 20 all wreck out of the race on the last lap letting him win.

Do not know about him being a force, but it is all about being in the right place, at the right time and if he does that who knows.

No I don't. In many ways he is like Danica Patrick. If not for their ability to generate their own sponsorship they wouldn't be racing in their respected stock car series.

He'll be a mid-pack finisher if he don't crash out.........
