What is the best encryption software on the market?

I'm looking for the best AVAILABLE encryption software. I want one that gives me really good to maximum security as well as the option to password lock folders. If you can help then much love to you.

    The best is Truecrypt. http://www.truecrypt.org/

TrueCrypt is a software application used for on-the-fly encryption (OTFE). It is distributed without cost and the source code is available. It can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file or encrypt a partition or (under MS Windows except Windows 2000) the entire storage device (pre-boot authentication).-wikipedia

Even the FBI finds it easier to force the key from the user than to try to a brute force attack on Truecrypt.

But you must follow the instructions to the letter. http://www.truecrypt.org/docs/?s=security-requirem...

Best AVAILABLE is probably just write something down and fold it up and stick it in your pocket. Software is only as good as the people that write it and nobody does as good of a job as my pocket for losing or making unreadable things that I want to keep secure.

Agreed, the best way of security is to have it on your person.

    However, to answer your question:

Perhaps it will be good to good to get a proper file deletion program as files deleted by windows can be recovered.
