A side street means a smaller street, not one of the main streets with heavy traffic. A sidewalk is a walkway next to the street for walking people but not cars or trucks. A district is a part of the city - it can include parts of many different streets. I don't know what you really mean to say, so I can't tell if you have described it correctly.

The english language developed after the Norman Conquest of Britain in 1066. The Norman conquerers spoke an early version of French called Old Norman, a language that evolved out of Latin, while the British natives spoke a mixture of languages derived from early Germanic dialects and known as Saxon dialects. The mixing of these two language groups eventually evolved into middle english and then modern english.
