What Bus From Bronx, NY goes Into Mount Vernon, NY?

I have a very important interview tomorrow in Mount Vernon and I cannot find the correct resources online and my friends are to no avail. I live in the Bronx by Eastchester RD and Pelham and I need to be in Mount Vernon on South 4th Avenue. I can't get SPECIFIC directions on how to get there the easiest with less walking. I need EXACT directions, saves time and doesn't require me to walk as much. Please provide me with this information as soon as possible cause this is a opportunity I do not want to miss. Please & Thank You. P.s.... I did Mapquest and Hopstop, didn't work out well for me.

Update:

I'm by the 2,5, and 6 trains. I'm by the 21, 31, 12, 40/42, and 4 buses. I need to know which ones, transfers, and what buses or trains I need to take in Mount Vernon once I arrive

Bee-Line buses same fare struction as MTA Subway and buses which is $2.25 one way and so you could use your MetroCard.

    Faster way:

If you're near Bx12, it's best if you take Bx12 +Select Bus Service via Pelham Parkway-Fordham Rd. This bus you have to paid at MetroCard or Coin Fare Collectors to get a receipt. When bus with blue light flashes approach bus station, you can use any doors of Bx12 +Select Bus Servcie. You must hold onto your ticket during the ride of Bx12 +Select Bus Service because fare inspectors randomly check for receipt or Metro-North Uniticket to see if you have take.

Here are following stops for Bx12 +Select Bus Service (Bus Rapid Transit replacing former LTD Stop) in your area.

    Pelham Parkway/Eastchester Rd-Jacobi Hospital

    Pelham Parkway/Williamsbridge Rd

    Pelham Parkway/White Plains Rd

    Pelham Parkway/Southern Blvd-Bronx Zoo

    Pelham Parkway/Fordham Plaza

    Quickest way to slow option.

Step 1: Take Inwood-bound Bx12 Select Bus Service to Fordham Plaza.

Step 2: Before you go on Metro-North''s Harlem Line to Mount Vermon West or New Haven Line to Mount Vermon East, buy ticket at Metro-North TVM or ticket window for $2.75 one way.

Step 3: Take Harlem Line to Mount Vernon West or New Haven Line to Mount Vermon East.

    Next option:

Step 1: Take Inwood-bound Bx12 Select Bus Service to Williamsbridge Rd. Walk few blocks north to (5)'s Pelham Parkway Station.

Step 2: Take Bronx-bound (5) to Eastchester-Dyre Av for Bee-Line W52 bus. Please note this bus only runs six-days Monday thru Saturdays.

    Next option:

Step 1: Take Inboound-bound Bx12 Select Bus Service to White Plains Rd.

Step 2: Take uptown (2) train to 233rd St for Bee-Line #42 bus. Or you could stay on (2) to last stop for Bee-Line W40, W41, W42 or W43. W43 only runs early weekday morning and only have 3 trips toward Westchester Medical Center which travels through Mt. Vermon. On Weekends, you have to get off (2) train at 241st St for Bee-Line W40 and W40 bus because W42 does not go below 241st St on weekends.

The best way would be if you could make your way over to the 5 train (if you don't want to walk, you can take the Bx12 over there) and then take it to Dyre Avenue. From Dyre Avenue, you should take the Bee-Line #52 bus, which runs along South 5th Avenue, a block away from your destination (you didn't say the cross street you wanted, but I'm sure the bus will stop there)

If you don't want to do that, you can take the Bx31 to 233rd Street/White Plains Road and then take the Bee-Line #42 bus into Mount Vernon. It runs along South 5th Avenue, East 3rd Street, and South Fulton Avenue in Mount Vernon, so if your destination is near the Bee-Line #42, this is your best option.

I hope this information was very helpful. Good luck with your interview.

Take the #2 or 5 train to 241st Street and transfer there to Bee Line bus routes 40/42, which will take you to Mt. Vernon.

The fare on the bus is the same as the subway, $2.25. However, since you're taking the subway, you will get a free transfer to the bus at 241st Street.

    Good luck
