Are there heated roads in minnesota?

I hear that ice is not a huge problem in Minnesota due to heated roads, is this true?

    NO! Where did you hear this? Do you have any idea how much it would cost to heat a road?????

    Don't reply so hastily. There are areas where they heat the road. Duluth is a great example. They use heat from the sewage drainage system to melt some of the city roads. While it's not a full blown heating job, it does some work.

    This does not create ice. We have ice problems because it's wet and cold. Yes, 2+2=4.

    Yes it is true. They have had heated roads for years. Every time I drive to Minnesota, the roads are always clear of snow and ice.

    I always go in July.

    No way! They only do that in densly populated areas like downtown New York City. They shovel away the snow and put salt and sand on the road.

    No there are no heated roads. The DOT puts down a chemical to help with ice and they salt, salt, salt!
