How old do you think my son will be when he grows out of this? It says it goes up to 65 pounds and 50 inches tall.

At 8 years old, 50 inches is the 50th percentile for height in boys. Your son could reach this sooner or later though.
I have the My Ride 65 for my Godson and so far I love it. The only vehicles it hasn't fit in (rear facing) for me were both 2 door cars. I'm also only able to get it positioned in the middle seat of most of the vehicles I've put it in. It's easy to use and comfy. I've only had one problem so far with the straps twisting.
My Godson went into his My Ride 65 around 6 or 7 months and loved it compared to his infant carrier. He is still rear facing at 16 months and approx 27 pounds.
I'm not sure how much you know about extended rear facing, but here's a few links if you'd like to learn more.

Any car seat that FF harness to 65 pounds is GREAT. My oldest was 6 when she no longer fit height wise. We RF to the seat limits, to around age 3 or 4.

I have a Honda Accord and this seat was too big to fit rearfacing in my car. It's a big seat, but it's meant to be a seat that lasts all throughout childhood.

It's just my personal opinion but I went on and got the new Britax Roundabout 55 instead.
