How can I make some money online while traveling?
I am 25 years old, I have the unique ability to fly for extremely inexpensive rates for the next year or two of my life, and I have about 5-6,000 USD in the bank.
I am quitting my job and want to set off to travel/couch-surf for a while. I have a few years experience teaching English and a certification to do so, so I could realistically set up shop anywhere to teach, but if possible I'd rather stay on the move while still making my savings last as long as possible. So I am looking into different ways to legitimately earn money online. I don't want to work 40 hours a week, I don't want to make loads of money (I know it's not even possible doing this). I just want to make a bit extra here and there to make my savings/travel cash last longer as I move.
I've heard of people teaching English via Skype, I don't know how this compares to customer service/data-entry/crowd-sourcing type jobs. I know that there are a lot of ways to make money online, but (as would be expected) doing searches pulls up far too much information, probably most of it junk.
Anyone have experience with this or know of a good place that I could look for more information? I won't set off for another month or two, so it would be great to get something started BEFORE I start my travels so I have a realistic idea of what is possible.
Thanks in advance.

Other than e-bay, finding something to sell and keeping up wit.h it, everything else seems to be hard to find without getting
into some scam. There are accounting jobs you can do from home, like a doctors office or something that needs you to keep it
all organized and up to date. The billing is their biggest headache and if you take care of it for them its out of sight and
out of mind.

Buy a pocket computer in addition to your laptop , my suggestion if you'll be traveling...
Here are some things you need to remember:
Money can be made online, in fact a living can. Here's the catch: You do have to work. It *may* involve working smart and not very hard, but it will take a long time to reach this point if you're persistent.
An employer won't hire you online, or at least its not likely. Dice dot com has a nice feature which lets you filter jobs by telecommute. Sites with the description 'work at home jobs' are a scam...
Making money online usually involves submitting articles, affiliate marketing, and possibly some skills you could use as a Freelancer such as web design. (Go to the website freelancer dot com to find companies looking for freelancers.)
You can learn more by visiting my blog: http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UdtvD
Here's an important note about my blog: I don't attempt to sell to people. Its mostly just information about affiliate marketing and some info on web design etc. There are some referral links in my posts, but not for anything you'd have to pay money for to use.
(The only exception is one thing you'd pay $1 for a 1 month trial period, the $1 might be refundable I'm not sure)
Just so you know, paid survey sites are basically a waste of time. Usually, at least.
As always.... NEVER PAY TO SIGN UP FOR SOMETHING WHICH CLAIMS YOU'LL MAKE MONEY.

I have enjoyed reading some of the spam on your responses, people really aren't that imaginative after all are they? Of course I am sure your response is one of the 24.
Keep your eyes open, learn what you can for free, and when you find yourself wanting to purchase automated systems, prefab sites and half solutions avoid them they may have value, but you will need to assimilate the multiple parts to a successful online campaign from varying sources. If you want to succeed on line, follow the successful, you should know their names by now, Filsaime, Kern, Diess, Pagen, Johnson, Burchett, Bacak, Sultanic, they will acknowledge which membership sites are valid. And the best value bar none amongst the membership sites is the Millionaire Society, if you want to learn to work online, start there and finish there, as soon as you can, and save yourself a ton of time and money.

Great question...and I think you'll like the answer I am giving you.
I work from home, and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself,
and my family. The funny thing about it is that it's not hard to do.
I've been doing it for 2 years now, and I LOVE the freedom it allows me.
It honestly does not cost a bunch of money, like opening a brick and
mortar business, and you don't even need to be a rocket scientist to
figure it out. My advice would be to find ONE program that you like,
and stick with it. Don't start chasing the newest shiniest thing that
comes out. There is a lot of garbage out there, and not worth the
powder to blow it up. There are a FEW that I highly recommend, but
that is about all. They are simple, and you see results pretty quickly.
The main thing is sticking with whatever you decide to go with. If you
stick with it, you will soon be in the ranks of the 5% who make it in
this business.

The biggest trend today is the changing of the format the way people will read books online. It's called Digital Web Books.
Digital Web books are slowly going to put the PDF file to pasture as did the CD to the cassette tape. The company I am with is the only one in the industry marketing this technology.
I invite you to take a look and download some samples.

To start making money on-line is rather simple:
1. Pick an online tool/system to follow (any tools, any system will work)
2. Designate time that you can devote per day.
3. Don't switch from one "thing" to another.
4. Set up a 3-mohth goal/target/$ amount that you want to make.
5. Re-evaluate your tools/system for enhancement versus your goal/target $ amount.
Here is your starting point...

Depending on your intersts, you could actually build yourself a nice online business by building a website and making money that way. It takes TIME but if you pick something you really enjoy learning and writing about it is actually quite fun. I started my first site on chocolate candy. :) Silly, I know, but I have had a blast, so far.
