NO. They are NOT haram to use.
The alcohol is Not being consumed.
Alcohol itself is not impure - it Only becomes haram when a person Drinks it.

@ Bint: I'm talking about the substance alcohol. It is not like pig - alcohol is pure. However, if one drinks it or handles it i.e. sells it (so others can drink it) it is haram.

Praise be to Allaah.
It is safer NOT to use beauty products that contain alcohol, because of the difference of opinion as to whether intoxicating substances are naajis (impure) or not. If one is forced to use them and the amount of alcohol contained is very small, then it is OK, in sha Allaah.

Cosmetics containing Synthetic alcohols are permissable ....as long as they have no other haram ingredients within.
If cosmetics are made out of alcohol which has been extracted from fruits such as grapes and dates then they are haram.
and Allah knows best.

Okay, straight answer: NO, cosmetics that contain alcohol are NOT haraam.
Alcohol that is consumed and intoxicates us are haraam but something that is applied to our skin is not.
