Can you claim mileage to and from work on your federal taxes?

I'm an electrician. I have to drive anywhere from 40 to 100 miles one way to work, depending on where the job is. I am not self-employed, nor am I compensated for travel.

    no

    if you drive to your work office and are sent to another location that mileage is deductible

    but driving to and from work is commuting and never deductible
