d. imaginary

2. given f(x)= log4 x, then f(8) equals

a. 3/2

b. 2

c. 3

d. 4

and one more:)

3. when simplified, (c/2)- (2/c)/1+(c/2)

    1. If you use the Quadratic formula you'll have x = 4 ± sqrt(16 - 40) / 4. The square root of a negative number is an imaginary number, so d) is the answer.

    2. y = f(8) = log4(8). What is the number that satisfies 4^x = 8 ? It's 3/2 since 4^(3/2) = 4^(2/2) * 4^(1/2) = 4 * sqrt(4) = 4 * 2 = 8. Option a)

    3. (c/2) - (2/c)/1 + (c/2) = (c/2) - (2/c) + (c/2) = c - 2/c. Option c)

    Question 2 is a) because 4^(3/2)=8

Convert your log to an exponential.
