What to do if a sales representative misleads you?
I signed up with an electric company and two of the offers I was promised are not valid. The company is not willing to resolve. I had to pay a cancellation fee to cancel my other electric carrier. Should I sue over $200.

Here is what you can do. First of all, it probably isn’t worth suing over $200 because court cost could cost more than that. Typically even to serve a small claims court suit will cost $50 alone. Then there will be other costs that recovering $200 is not worth it. However, there are some things you can do.
1. If you paid by credit card, then dispute the charge. Often times if you explain how they lied, the credit card company will refund your money for you.
2. Contact the Better Business Bureau. They will pressure the company to rectify your situation and in some instances, they will even take legal action for you.
3. Look online on scam sites to see if anyone else has had these experiences. Sometimes they have found a solution you have not thought of and can offer a solution
4. If none of the above work, complain complain complain. Call them repeatedly, tell everyone, let them know you are telling everyone, post it all over the internet, let them know you are posting it all over the internet, send them links to your bad reviews, etc. They may not offer a solution but you might drive away enough customers to make them think twice before doing it next time.
