Do you lose your downloaded e-books if your E-reader dies?
Hello all and I hope all are well.
I'm a bit curious about e-readers. I don't have one but would like an answer to a question. I was always taught, if you don't know ask.
I want to know if the thing like dies and you've downloaded many e-books on it, do you have to go back and repurchase the same books if you have to buy another one because the e-reader you had is broken? Thank you all in advance.

No, the books are stored in your account. If you buy from an independent e-bookstore, you will be purchasing through your computer (and later transferring to your e-reader) so your books will be saved there as well.
You can make all your purchases through the computer and back everything up on memory cards or thumb-drives. And if you have reader software loaded on your computer (you know, like an app) you can always read what you own from there.
