Before/during the Soviet invasion of the Middle East, what weapons did the mujaheddin use?

The Russians invaded in DEC 79. In response good old Jimmy Carter responded by funding and arming the jujahedinn. One weapon he had us give them was shoulder launched ground to air Singer missiles. They did not use them all on the Russians and saved some of them to use later, such on the USAF. Many of the arms were Russian as the supply of Russian ammo was quite available.

Mujaheddin is term for fighter of jihad, there's been a lot of soldiers who fought for jihad in the middle east which have been using different weapons for decades and century's. The ones in Afghanistan during the Soviet - Afghan War used whatever they could find. They weren't that organized in till foriegn aid gave them weapons. They mostly used Soviet weapons stolen from the Soviet backed Government or weapons stolen from Soviet troops.

Are you referring to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan? If so, the locals used whatever was available, from ancient muskets to modern assault rifles.
