Where is the best lobster and crab in the continental US?

Lobster - Maine, Massachusetts

Blue Crab - Anywhere on the Gulf Coast or east coast from NC down

Dungeness Crab - West coast, the best I've had were around the San Francisco area

Snow & King Crab - Seattle, Vancouver BC, Alaska

Here's a couple of suggestions depending where you are. If I were looking for that same weekend getaway, I'd head up the coast towards Maine. You may not make it to Maine because of the weather but That's the most likely place to find fresh crab and lobster. If you're on the west coast, go to San Fran. They only have the clawless spiny lobsters in the Pacific, which are good (not as good as maine, I think) but the Dungeness crab will far make up for not having Maine lobsters. If you're around the south, & want just good seafood and a good time (although you'll pay a preminum for lobster and it will be frozen not fresh) go to New Orleans. I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

Best Lobster In Usa

I have heard that there is also good Crab in the Baltimore, Maryland area. As far as lobster goes the other poster was right on with Maine. Try Newick's in portland, Me. As far as true crab goes, i think you need to go to BC or AK. If you ever make it to Anchorage, AK you must go to Phyllis' Seafood Cafe. It's the best...hands down.

The best lobster is in Maine. The best crap is in Chesepeake Bay and Dungeness in southern Oregon and they also have some great prauns.

It depends on the method of preparation. I do my lobster tails out on the BBQ over mesquite chips.As far as crab goes there are different kinds and I like some better than others. King crab with butter is killer but on another day I might be in the mood for a crab cocktail from San Francisco's Fisherman's warf.Lobster bisque is to die for especially with a steak chaser.You can get delicious lobster burritos in Ensenada Mexico.Great question!
