White fingernail polish?

Is there a way to make it go on smooth? I've tried everything, but mine always comes out streaky and looks awful.

Buy a base coat nail polish that isn't clear, but slightly cloudy or white in color. Apply two coats. If your white nail polish is a little thick, put a small amount of nail polish remover in it to thin it out. Shake it up. Apply one coat on all ten fingers (or toes) and let it fully dry. Apply another coat and let it dry fully. Continue until it is streak-free. Don't forget a top coat to prevent chips!

If tried myself and for some reason white polish is the worst, the only solution i found was to go to a salon and have them apply it.
