Pronunciation of African name?
Hello, my question is a little strange so please bear with me.
I met a girl some years ago, and she had the most beautiful name. She was African and I'm pretty sure that her name was too. Well anyway the problem is, is that I for the life of me cannot find any infomration about her name and I don't think I'm even spelling it right. Anyways I'm going to phonetically spell it out for you below, and if anyone has heard of this name, could you please show me the correct spelling.
Lan e etta
It seems like it would be an obvious spelling, but based on my internet searches, apparently not :/

I can only think of Lanieta, which is a name from the Pacific Islands, not Africa.
I did see an African-American girl called Lanietta on Facebook though.

If you go the most obvious route it would be Lanietta, where i would take the pronunciation of e.
If you like the sound of the name then make up your own spelling for it. I would go with Lanietta but because westerners do not associate I with making the E sound they might say Lan-eye-etta
Maybe go with Lanieyetta <--- kinda long and funky
Lannyetta <--- you will def get the Lanny and yetta pronunciation from that spelling
or you can give it any spelling you wish and be prepared to explain the pronunciation again and again

Maybe Lenieta?
I was thinking you originally spelled it Lanietta but who knows. Someone could have just made it up.
