Can I grow wheat grass from grains of wheat?

I know that cats like wheat grass, so is it the same as when its grown from wheat seeds?Please answer if you are completely positive-Thanks

    Yes. If you use unhulled wheat seeds or wheat berries as they are sometimes sold as, they germinate easily.

    Put them thickly but not so thickly that they are touching, across the top of moist, not wet, potting medium or soil. Cover with 1/2 inch of the same. Moisten slightly.

    Put them in a warm sunny window and they will begin to come up in a few days.

    Protect the grass from cats until it is at least 4 inches tall.

    Start a new pot every few weeks because the cats will destroy it.

    Be sure that the seeds you are using are sold for human consumption and have not been treated with any kind of fungicide or other potential poison.

    If you plant it outdoors in deep soil, it will grow into wheat. But you won't get enough wheat for a loaf of bread from just one tray's worth of wheat plants.
