I have YES an old mac powerbookG4!! Everything is fine but because the sound is messed up someone suggested that the best thing to do was to reformat by inserting the disc that came with it BUT I have a problem and that is I do not wish to lose all the bookmarks that I have as each one is for my work ( educational) for Foreign languages , and each isa in use AND IF I LOSE EVEN ONE IT WOULD BE A DISASTER FOR ME

So how do I save the bookmarks? I can copy rest of the stuff on a thumb/flash drive but bookmarks? How do I do that/?

Would like some info -Is there a website that advertises rooms on weekly basis-A fried of mine visits London every alternate month for 3 or 4 weeks and the hostels charge excessively! My friend is a student and can pay about 60 to 70 Pounds sterling per week for a smoke free room with toilet and shower-The areas would be Central London, Pimlico, Victoria, Westminster, Oxford street , within 3 to 4 KM distance to Central London

I have Tried everything but cannot solve this problem.

I know its an old mac and most call it absolute/vintage! but it worked fine, its just that it was real slow, so I sent it with someone to the US to get it serviced at an Apple shop-The guys there, told my friend that its a vintage and we can't do anythiing as we have no parts etc-Before I sent it , I had almost copied all my stuff on a thumb drive with 80GB capacity,, like bookmarks, the MS application, and as I was copying all the pics from Iphoto, it said 3058 items and after almost an hour it just froze, so I clicked on cancel-I checked the Thumb drive and noticed that almost a lot of pics were there-However Iried again but this time it came up saying ' this is being used by another application and I just could not copy them-Because I did have the pics in my email, I did not bother.

But then,suddenly I noticed that all the icons on my desk top, folders etc just vanished! I went in to the Zfinder and saw that they were there, so again I did not bother-

As said the guys at the apple shop told my friend that they have emptied the cache and it should be much faster, and to do this every 3 months press Ctrl or such ( I have not done it as it was done by them) On return, when I switched it on, I thought my folders and icons on the desk top would come up , but they did not-However in the Finder window I noticed that when I clicked on the Desk top there were just Jpg's and all say 0 kb.

I tried to delete them, move them to thrash but a message comes up , you cannot do this as its being used by another application, Stop or continue-despite clicking continue,nothing goes in to the recycle bin

I just cant seem to move them out!

What should I do? PLease help me someone-I am the only one who says the Mac is just so wonderful! the rest in the family are all Bill Gates friends!

To me its a joke! what is 5 star about this airline? There is nothing special in way of the food served, its mediocore, the cabin crew hardly can articulate well in English- The only good thing is it has good experienced pilots , who are all from AROUND THE WORLD-Comparing it to other airlines like Singapore Airlines , now that is 5 stars,but they dont brag about it-I really would like to know , WHAT is this 5 Star stuff all about, that they say the 5 star airline of th world??

For the past 10 days I have noticed that suddenly my 1 1/2 year old has kind of lost its appetite-He is normal in every way.but seems to not want his daily intake so heartily as usual. I also tried to change the variety, like he loved fresh chopped chicken liver, then he did not want that, then his normal wet food, did not care for it, he eats his dry food but not the same anmount,

I thought maybe he has this fur ball stuff in him ( he is a long haired guy) so gave him the hairball paste, but as this did not improve , and he was not passing a motion as before so I stuck a blob of butter in his mouth! and after some time he did have a good dump, then he ate the normal amount-But this is happening every other day , eats , does not eat

His nose is not dry or warm , he plays as much as a grown cat should do, but its BOTHERING ME BIG TIme this uninterest in his food

Any ideas , suggestions? Thanks

Has anyone been scammed in Craigslist?

Last month I had advertised some items in Craigslist for sale- Within 1 hour I recd. an email from a woman named just Kelly( obviously a scammer or confidence trickster) as you will see why in my post below I label this person such -She wrote that she was very interested in my item for sale( it was about 1300 $) AND SHE WOULD PAY ME AN EXTRA $50, to remove my ad, as she was sending me a cashiers cheque and that all I had to do was send her my name and address for her movers to pick up the item-This took me by surprise and I emailed her back saying , I did not wish her to pay me extra but to make an appt. first to view the item, and also the chq. would have to be cashed first and though I do not accept chqs, I would accept the chq as it was a cashiers chq. She then agreed for me to cash the chq and then would ask her movers to pick up the item-As I was emailing her I received another email, this time from someone called Mac, and the emaIl WAS EXACTLY IN THE SAME TONE , however this guy wanted to pay me an additional 100 $ to remove the ad-I immediately saw red flags in my mind and realized that this was not any genuine buyers and all they wanted was my name and address, and something was very wrong, how can anyone buy an item without viewing?

On asking some friends I was told that these days fake cashiers chqs were issued and though the banks would honour it, as they could not make out a false cashiers chq to a genuine one till such time -a period if 7 to 10 days when the issuing bank would let my bank know that it was a fraudulent chq, this meant that I would be notified by my bank and I would have to return the money , BUT IN THE Meantime the fraudulent parties would have already taken my item away by some movers whom either they were in cahoots with or maybe just ask some movers to pick up items from a place.

I would like to know if anyone has had similar experiences/ Please be very AWARE of these con ariutsts. Thanks

Its exactly a month when our furry bundle came into our lives, Its a real LONG story-Anyways we have had him neutred, and all shots given-We are going away for a month. Initially, he was to be boarded at a cattery at the vets, but then seeing the small cages, no sunlight, and nothing to look at, + the attendants just come to give food and clean the cages and knowing how he loves to watch the world go by at the windows and as such he went thru enough trauma before he came to us as well as when he was castrated, but since 3 weeks hes doing good and now confident that he is the Prince here. So we have arranged for someone who lives on the premises to come 3/4 times, open the house windows in the day , feed him , clean his litter tray and have fresh filtered water in his bowl.This way he will be in his own surroundings ,But I am feeling bad leaving him! YES, he knows the person who will tend to him, but he can't play with him .Will my Kitty feel lonely? He has a scratch pole, and the living room to jump around in , sofas, his favorite place etc BUT will he act strange when we get back? Ummh I did not expect myself to ask this question, but there! its done -Maybe old age! the sudden anxiety syndrome

My 1 year old has recently been castrated-He's doing good. The vet said and has recommended Royal Canin urinary S/O dry food, as they tend to get UTI and to avoid crystals and future problems-He can also have the wet food , but same brand-I know that dry food alone is not good, so I give him 50 gms of pure lean beef finely minced- Is it OK for him to have that? the minced beef.

Please advise-I also sometimes change and give him boiled chicken with a bit of soup, or just soup without any thing else,just chicken soup so he has enough liquid , he does drink water many times but I feel its not enough!

Is it legal for a tenant to hang on to the keys after his tenancy has expired even for a few hours the next day? What about the security deposit, is it not legal for a landlord to hold the security deposit for a period of 2 weeks or till proof of the tenant having paid the utilities and inventory checks done?

This tenant has to move by a specific date but he wants to hold on to the keys and insists on the landlord to return the security deposit immediately and only then will he hand over the keys-The landlord agrees to handover the deposit immediately on condition that the tenant shows him proof of the utilities paid by him and the inventory check done on the last day of his tenancy but the tenant wants to drag it to the next day

How does one address this situation? Responses sent immediately will be grately appreciated-Thanks
