Raw lean minced beef, is it good for cats?

My 1 year old has recently been castrated-He's doing good. The vet said and has recommended Royal Canin urinary S/O dry food, as they tend to get UTI and to avoid crystals and future problems-He can also have the wet food , but same brand-I know that dry food alone is not good, so I give him 50 gms of pure lean beef finely minced- Is it OK for him to have that? the minced beef.

Please advise-I also sometimes change and give him boiled chicken with a bit of soup, or just soup without any thing else, just chicken soup so he has enough liquid , he does drink water many times but I feel its not enough!

Thanks dear friends

Sure. My cat loves raw beef or beef jerky. It's very healthy because it provides the animal protein that is good for cats with urinary tract issues. Avoid grains both in the cat food and in the treats you give him. Chicken is good also but I would skip the soup. Soup is usually very salty.

If the hamburger is well cooked that probably wouldn't be a problem. If it's raw I wouldn't advise that at all. Could get salmonella.

Just do what the vet advised you to do. Vet is the one who knows best. There are dry food products that can help with the avoidance of UTI. Now your vet suggested what you should do, so go with what he suggested. His advice about the dry and wet food are correct and yes you should always use the same brand.

There's nothing particularly wrong with a little well cooked burger or a little chicken now and then, but mainly stick with what the vet suggested. You don't have to be so concerned about the amount of water the cat drinks. Cats are dessert animals and don't required a lot of water. Besides your cat will get it's liquid from wet cat food in addition to water.
