anemia and pregnancy?

hi, i was told toward the end of my pregnancy (last blood test) that i was anemic (low hemoglobin count). well im no longer pregnant, but i was wondering if i would still be anemic and possibly purchase geritol or something, or was it only due to pregnancy? thanks for any advice.

U would need another test to confirm, I am anemic all the time but worse when preg. Make sure u eat red meat, and take a multivitamin if ur worried. Remember that iron on it's own can't be absorbed properly without vit c, which is helpful cos iron tabs can constipate, and orange juice (vit c) can allieviate constipation (juice in it's pure form with pulp is best). Iron deficiency usually comes with lethargy so if u feel run down there is a good chance u need a supplement, I would advise a pregnancy multi vit if u r breast feeding :-)

Look up a natural suplement called FLORADIX --- it's awesome and doesn't constipate etc. I'm a vegetarian and also celiac, so using this through three pregnancies was a godsend! I'm breastfeeding now and still take it.
