How to find velocity given acceleration and distance?

A car starts from rest and moves with constant acceleration a = 1.2m/s^2. find:

c) car's velocity after it travels 100m

d) time it takes to travel 100m

if the car starts breaking after 20sec with a rate a =-3.5m/s^2

e) the distance it will pass before coming to a complete stop.ss before coming to a complete stop.

as far as I know I need the time, but to find the time I need average velocity. How do I find average velocity if the Vf (final velocity) is unknown.... please help!

the way to find velocity given acceleration and distance is the following formula:

    (V2)^2=(V1)^2+2a*d

where v2 is the final velocity, v1 is the initial velocity (in this case 0), a is the acceleration, and d is the distance travelled.

    good luck
