..Hi Daniel, If weed helped cure or even treat in a healthy manner, any mental problems, I am very sure we would be prescribing and using it quite often, at least some place on the planet and we are not..Weed would no more help mental problems than alcohol would..Both take a person out of their natural, normal and sober mind, into a totally difference place that many times is not very safe or healthy..Not only does weed impair ones mind, but it has so many chemicals in it today, there is not an organic/natural joint to be found any longer, if there ever was such a thing .The Brain & Central Nervous System: Marijuana accumulates in the microscopic spaces between the nerve cells in the brain called, "synapses." This clogging interferes by slowing and impairing transfer of critical information..Long term use causes the brain to stop production of brain chemicals necessary to "feel good"---a negative feedback condition..And the user becomes chemically addicted.."Marijuana impairs thinking, mood, memory, and coordination"..It affects, alters and damages brain cells controlling thinking, emotion, pleasure, coordination, mood, and memory. The pituitary gland is also damaged which regulates thirst, hunger, blood pressure, sexual behaviour, and release of sex hormones..Marijuana distorts ones perception, thinking, and reality..One has difficulty in forming concepts and thoughts..One has poor concentration, mental confusion, loss of motivation, wide spread mood swings, aggression and hostility, depression and anxiety, and paranoia..This is only what is done to one organ, the brain, to say nothing of the other organs marijuana greatly impairs, some that can never be healed or regained once they are destroyed by using this potent drug that so many take all to lightly...If you value your thoughts/brain cells just to start with, then I would highly reconsider going back to something that will eventually take all..Make better choices for your life Daniel because right now, you still can...Take care..

It depends one what sort of mental problems you are referring to.
While weed in limited amounts every few days can relieve stress and elevate mood. Some studies suggest it may alleviate to a degree alzheimers disease. If used instead of and not in addition to alcohol it can make routy people more peaceful and content. It may also help people who are scattered mentally to focus to some degree on one thing at a time, thus helping certain attention deficit disorders. If a person is schizophrenic only diet can help. That is caused by brain allergies to common foods, generally milk and wheat products, yeast as in beer and in cheese..
Sometimes when depression is due to someones life not being in order smoking pot can make that person even less in order and the best thing for getting one's life in order is to avoid all drugs and alcohol, Small amounts of caffeine on a non regular basis might be okay to help a person get their life in order, along with making lists and accomplishing what needs to be done in order of priorities . And once they get things right, then weed could be reintroduced sporadically if a person feels inclined to alter their reality and escape one or twice a week using weak cannibus.
Strong weed and too much of it can cause a person's life to fall out of their control so that they are unable to be self sufficient, which should be one of the primary goals of every adult. Therefore, discretion should be used by the user so that they use the drug and the drug doesn't end up using them up until they look into the mirror one day and see a bleary eye unkempt loser.
A drug when used in the proper proportion may heal but when over used by a person it can cause them to become scattered, dysfunctional, incapable of carrying out a plan or a schedule, and cuase one to become forgetful and lose things.
A person who has smoked strong weed should wait about an hour or two before considering operating any sort of vehicle or equipment that needs the full attention of a user. You dont want someone who is stoned driving a car, operation a skilsaw, or handling your money.

Actually, it's quite the opposite.
I had friend that were heavy marijuana users during their teenage years. Now, as adults, they have trouble coping with life situations. Each one of them that was married, is now divorced. Some are on wife number 3. Most have a very hard time controlling their emotions - and it results in them losing their jobs.
Heavy marijuana use results in the brain being rewired. Could it possibly help someone that is bi polar? Sure. And so could a head injury. Only in most cases, both will result in more problems than solutions to someone's mental health.

According to recent research, the effects of smoking cannabis on mental health are worse than first thought. If you have a history of mental illness or it runs in your family then smoking weed might not be such a good idea.

Weed doesn not actually cure anything. It just makes you think things are OK when really not.

It will not "cure" it. You really should do some research on your disorder. There is no cure for it.
