Why should the government fix school systems in poor areas?

why the should:

- the poverty percentage is like around 20

thats 1 out of 5 kids who will go on to be uneducated, part take in crime, and be a burden to society.

- it will uplift urban centers and neutralize the racial division that is still present today.

- it will look good internationally... jk although in the real world thats why they do do it. final reason would probably be the humanity part of it. - ignorance is never good for society. we want to bring out all the potential talents and give equal opportunity for every child in the nation

why they shouldnt:

- most of that $$$$$$ will be spent on kids who DONT want to learn. no really, i think 60 minutes did a show on how high achieving black students DONT have friends as compared to high achieving white students. the reason? the high achieve black students were accused of 'acting white' by their classmates. their role models are all in poverty. their older siblings are all uneducated. what motivation do tehy have?

A better question would be "Can the government "fix" school systems in poor areas?"
