Who to keep- Fantasy Baseball?

I'm in a 12 team H2H league and get to keep 5 as long as there is 1B and 1P. It is a K/9 league

Here is my team, I've been building it for years. Who should I keep?

Butler

N Cruz

Cargo

McCutcheon

Buster Posey

Uggla- acquired when Utley went down

Utley

R Zimmerman

Pitching:

Brett Anderson

Bumgarner

J Garcia

Grienke

Kershaw

Lewis

Romero

Update:

Sorry, 1B= 1 batter and 1 pitcher (1P). In other words i can't keep all batters or all pitchers

You said you HAVE TO KEEP one hitter and one pitcher, correct?

Lets start with the pitcher. Greinke and Kershaw are the only two SPs you have worth keeping when considering how strong some of your hitters are and how many spots must be reserved for them. Greinke had a real down year last year after his Cy Young campaign in 09, but he's on a new team determined to win and who plays in the NL. Kershaw on the other hand had a career year last season, but is dealing with a lot of turmoil in L.A. surrounding the Dodgers on and off the field. I trust Greinke more to have the better season in 11, go with him.

As for your other 4 spots, lets start with the no-brainers. Carlos Gonzalez and Chase Utley are both first round draft selections this year and have earned spots without a doubt on your team. With Utley in place, Uggla is thrown back by default because you're set at 2B and I expect his career best AVG to return to the .250 range, so I dont think you're losing out on him.

Now for your last two spots, 3B is a very depth thin position so Zimmerman has earned a spot in the top 5 at that position in recent years, I strongly recommend holding onto him for 11 to shore up the 3B spot. I can guarantee if you throw him back he won't be there for you to re-draft, and you'll be stuck with a much less talented 3B. Now granted, Cruz and McCutchen are highly sought after OFs on the rise, but Buster Posey is a must keep since he is Catcher and 1B eligible, and probably the new standard at C in the majors behind only Mauer, not to mention he's very young and this is a keeper.

So to recap, my choices are CarGo, Utley, Posey, Zimmerman and Greinke.

    Good luck this season!!

Posey, Zimmerman and Utley - hitters

    Grienke and Kershaw - Pitchers

I would tell you to keep Bumgarner, but you may be able to pick him back up later. After his post season performance, he's going to be a keeper after this season.

I would like you to keep Cargo, cuz he was the #1 fantasy player last year, right? Not sure why you wouldn't keep him, except you have Posey, Zimmerman and Utley.... 3 of the hardest spots to get good production from is Catcher, 3B and 2B.... but if anything, keep Cargo and get rid of Utley? Iono.... maybe since you have Utley and Uggla, you'll be able to pick one of those guys back up.

Kershaw is in a weak hitting division and Grienke is moving to the NL, onto a powerful hitting team... sure to catch a ton of wins... maybe. Miller park isn't exactly good for pitchers, ya know.. SO you may want to drop Grienke for Cargo. You can then focus the rest of your draft purely on pitching and finding a 1B and SS with a couple more outfielders in between.

First of all, your hitting is really stacked. Its unfortunate you can only keep up to 4 of them. Fortunately you have big hitters in some of the weaker positions in terms of depth. 3B, C and 2B are really thin. Zimmermann Posey(based on last season performance and his prospective spike in numbers for this year) and Utley are good choice as they are in the top 2 or 3 in their respective positions. After the year CarGo had you obviously can't let him go so he should be your fourth pick.

Now for your fifth pick, you must select a pitcher. To me it boils down to grienke and kershaw. Grienke had an amazing year 2 seasons ago and fell back to earth last season. That makes me a little uneasy and wonder if 09 was a fluke year. His ERA was hiigher last season which is of concern. With Kershaw, you have a steady progression of improvement since his MLB debut. His ERA was sub 3.00 and he also had well over 200 strikeouts. He is in his early 20s and signs point to him improving more as the years progress. Kershaw should be your 5th pick if you are looking for good pitching for this year and many years to come.

Ouch, absolutely BRUTAL that you only get to keep five especially since you are randomly forced to keep a 1B. So lets get the two requirements out of the way. Luckily for you Buster Posey has 1B eligibility so that solves your issue right there (Butler is a good player but out of this group theres just no way you can keep him especially with the positional value that Posey has). For pitchers you cant go wrong with either Kershaw or Greinke so lets say you keep them both. Your other two spots are absolute no brainers for CarGo and Utley. So while its tough since you have a bunch of others worth keeping I think you have an easy, and talented 5:

Posey, Cargo, Utley, Kershaw, Greinke. Good luck.

I would definitely keep Kershaw and Butler, that will take care of your SP 1B obligation, then i would keep cargo (he is a beast) buster posey (2nd best hitting catcher behind mauer, which is a very key position) and Utley (again 2B is a key position, and Utley and Cano are the best there)

    Hope this helps :)

i'm guessing it rather is in step with Wins, Ks, era, WHIP. Beckett: He consistently keeps to be healthy and having a reliable offense at the back of him enables him to get a great sort of wins. He strikeouts alot of batters and keeps a low era and dosen't walk plenty, which keeps his WHIP down. Roy Halladay: in all danger the suitable pitcher interior the AL, the Jays consistently look to play properly at the back of him, so he's a sturdy pitcher to have for the subsequent 3 or 4 seasons. he's likewise very consistent. Lester: Going to grow to be a stud interior the following couple of years, very reminiscent of Beckett he has a great offense at the back of him and he has grow to be a dominant strikeout pitcher. Being youthful additionally enables him to pitch better than 2 hundred innings each season. He has yet to go through a DL stint and left handers looks extra reliable. Cliff Lee: Going to to the Phillies will rather help Lee. He faces much less complicated line-united statesand has a trend way far extra desirable offense then he did in Cleveland. Dan Haren: Yeah, he performs for a terrible team yet he's in simple terms nasty. If he performed for a respectable offensive team he'd be interior the lead for the NL Cy youthful award. His strikeouts are during the roof and he in simple terms desires some run help to grow to be a particular guy.

Seems like you have a decent team, I am not a fan of most of those though.

    Posey

    Grienke

    Zimmerman

    All definite keepers.

    Cruz wouldn't be bad either.
