    the 3.5m telescope picks up 191406 times as much light as a .8cm pupil.

    area = pi times radius squared

    area (telescope)= 3.14 * 175cm * 175cm = 96162 square cm.

    area (pupil) = 3.14 * .4cm * .4cm = .5 square cm

    .5 goes into 96162 (divide by .5) 191406 times
