how do you block companies like match affinity and sex in the uk sending requests?
i havnt subscribed to sex in the uk or match affinity and i am persistanly receiving emails for me to contact them, ie someone wants to contact you ....also alias names are appearing on my chat window to add them to my account so as they can chat. can anyone help ? thanks

you don't explain WHERE the offending adds show up, web browser or email client.
if it is web browser, go to mvps.org and install their host file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
this little thing is free and safe and it blocks tons of junk (sex, casino, pills, whatever).
note: host file is just text file and you can at any time add or remove any entries. i just get the host file once a year from above link and it works like charm. one more nice thing about using host file to block adds - it is browser independent (it will work regardless which browser you use, if you have more than one browser, you don't need to set them up individually).
if you are getting spam in your email, increase security settings and if needed add own filters (rule, send to folder)

take the email that they send from, copy that. than go to opitions, than go to spam and filtering than go to block email and paste the email address and press save.
the alias names that are appearing, on the chat, click show message, than click block and click okay. so they will be blocked and u cant recieve any more cahts or emails from them
