Coolant Disappearing in a 1999 Dodge Dakota 5.2L?
I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota 5.2L V8. It is consistantly low on Coolant, especially in the summer with no apparent leaks. It is also low on oil pretty consistantly with no apparent leaks. I noticed some Oily residue on the bottom of the transfer case, but I am not sure where it is coming from. It also has a "hesitation" when accelerating up steep grades or acceleration above 55-60mph. Any ideas?
I haven't noticed that it idles higher than normal. Just jerks some when you're going up a hill.

Sounds like a possible head gasket concern.
Check the tailpipe to see if there is any oily residue or white smoke when vehicle is first started. Moreso, pull the oil dipstick and oil filler cap to see if any milky color is mixed with your oil.
There are more tests to determine a head gasket concern but require some specific tools.
