Why did adblock give me MORE ads?

I used to never update adblock and I would never get any ads on any of the pages I went to. I updated it just now for the first time in like forever, and there are ads all over! I keep having to click the "block" thing, and when I go back to the page they just reappear again. help?!

You might have to re-institute your 'block list'.

In Tools> Add on's> tick AdblockPlus> Preferences> Filters> Add filter> (on the following window, select those which would/may help for you locale; Easylist & Fanboy are a couple for the U.S. Also, make sure to update all, from under "Filters")> OK out.

The above idea for NoScript is also a solid security/privacy addition.

Also get 'Better Privacy', a 'flash cookie' blocker.

This also helps: FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy> top drop menu set to "Firefox will use custom settings..."> Check 'Accept Cookies from sites'

    & Un-Check 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'.

    Good luck.

It probably broke during its update. Remove adblock and reinstall it.
