Would you vote for an Independent candidate that took the best ideas from both parties?

Please no answers like- the other side doesn't have any good ideas. Give thoughtful feedback. Thanks.

I always vote for the best person, not the party, so if an Independent was the best choice, yes I would vote for them.

Yes. I would welcome such a candidate. The problem is, that they all run as centrists until they get elected. That's why it's so important to do our research during the Primaries. Too many people rely on the media for information. The media is notorious for steering the people toward the candidates they want us to vote for. I think that was blatantly obvious during the last presidential election, particularly with the Democratic Primaries.

As long as those ideas aren't the other parties stupid ideas.

Like the Republican culture wars. Or the Democrats new idea of taking money from the poor to give to the rich.

No. Who is to determine which are the best ideas? Third party candidates cannot win. They cannot raise enough campaign money to compete.

There is no party for social liberals/fiscal conservatives. Likewise, there is no party for social conservatives with liberal fiscal views.

I would vote for a fiscal conservative that is also socially liberal. Yes.

So, that leaves out someone like Ron Paul, who is fiscally conservative, but also socially conservative.
