When will Firefox 3.6.14 be released?
I am curious to know when Firefox 3.6.14 will be released. Mozilla's website says that the final release date is February 14, 2011. It is now February 17, and version 3.6.14 is still not available. Why isn't it available yet?

The thing about open source projects is that they don't operate on a strict release schedule. They don't have people waiting to purchase their products, and they don't have shipping schedules to meet. The update will be released when its ready, after being tested to make sure they don't mess anything up.

UPDATE: Latest estimate is next Tuesday, 1st March 2011.
Software has to be thoroughly tested before being released, and any issues that arise during testing may stall the release, since they obviously don't want to release buggy software. As far as I can tell, the 3.6.14 release is stalled due to some issues with the browser crashing and they are deciding what to do next e.g. release it anyway without fixing the crash, rollback some changes to stop it crashing and then release etc.
(for the record, https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases and https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_3.6.14 still state February 14, 2011 as planned release date - I'm guessing this is where you got the date from)

Your browser will notify you of any updates if they are available asking if you want em. you could also go to their webpage and check yaself. The new Firefox 4.0beta is out already, but I wouldn't suggest you download it yet.
