Did the Wisconsin teachers get a paid day off to protest?

I'll bet by their union contract this could be an illegal strike.

Update:

If they are getting paid sick leave they must show proof(of sickness) or it is considered an illegal strike.

Government workers should contribute to their retirement and health care JUST LIKE THE REST OF US!! It is RIDICULOUS that The People should pay for these people's retirement and their health care. First, government workers get paid on average 20-30% higher than others in their same jobs in their same industries - across the board! Second, there was a time when being a public servant was reward in itself, and you knew you weren't going to make as much money -BUT NOW government gets paid MORE and EVERYONE KNOWS that government jobs are cushy! Where do you think the phrase, "Close enough for government work" came from? It came from the fact that government jobs require less of workers. And why? Because government has no bottom line; it can just keep on raising people's taxes to fill deficits. Our government is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of control.

Federal interference in the state's legislative process may be an impeachable offense.

No, they faked being sick and then bused in people outside of WI to bolster their crowds

They even bused in students who had no idea what they were doing

They aren't striking they are protesting. Why are you only commenting on the teachers and not the remaining employees who were there?

You don't have to prove you were sick if you have personal days. We don't have indentured servitude in this country.
