Do you agree with the yellow line rule at plate tracks, or do you think it should be amended?

In my opinion, a car should be allowed to pass below the yellow line after turn 4 on the last lap. It's how EVERY SINGLE RACE ends at Talladega and Daytona, why should we prevent a battle at the line? It was enacted for safety's sake, but look at the carnage it has caused and more importantly has the potential to cause. What's your take on the rule?

I don't like the rule, and quite honestly, I don't think it does much in a safety aspect. I really wish that NASCAR would let them go at it after turn 4 on the plate tracks. Drivers aren't going to give other drivers any room on the last lap of a race, especially from turn 4 and on. With the drivers forced to stay above the yellow, they all get bunched up and start running into each other, which isn't a safe thing when going 200 mph.

remarkable! each physique has forgotten why the yellow line rule had to be made! Sunday's little ruin on the tip replaced into no longer something while in comparison with what used to take place while somebody under the "yellow" line slid returned up onto the banking interior the midst of the %., going into turn a million or 3. I nevertheless think of the banking is the perpetrator, no longer the rule of thumb, plates,Carl, or call your person villain.

It's a silly rule, just like the "freeze the field under yellow" rule. They should be abolished. If we really want them to "have at it", then we need to get rid of those rules. The 500 and other races are much more exciting when drivers are willing to go under the yellow line to make a pass/block for the lead.

The consensus seems to be that the existence of the yellow line rule makes things safer. Occasionally seat belts have been know to kill people but I wouldn't advise driving without it on. There has to be an out of bounds somewhere. Just think of it as if there was grass or a wall at that yellow line.

Just get rid of it altogether. These guys aren't stupid enough to go below the yellow in the corners or go through the grass to make a pass, plus, NASCAR is gonna let the drivers police themselves. Passing below the yellow on the backstretch makes the racing SO much more exciting. Don't believe me? Watch this video:

I think that it should be amended to read if someone pushes another car below the line, that driver should automatically lose a lap. End of problem.

I would have to say its probably safer. I think that once air gets under a race car its a wrap and I think this is intended to limit this.

The rule is fine. It just needs to be enforced uniformly regardless of who is involved.

I think the rule as it stands is fine.

It just needs to be enforced on everyone......
