    And this is why you shouldn't rely on the spellchecker to catch all your typos... go look up the word "cretin" before you read the rest of what I have to say.

    It's funny how most of the people who ask this question seem to have more mistakes per sentence than the average B&A questioner. What's standing between you and bestseller-dom isn't your youth: it's your lack of skill in writing. Publishers don't care how old you are. They care whether you've written something the public will pay to read. The chances of your being able to do that, if this question is representative of your writing, are somewhat smaller than your chances of beating Watson at "Jeopardy!"

    Before you think about getting published, put in the time and the practice to learn how to write a book that deserves to be published. By the time you've done that, nobody will think you're too young to be in bookshops. Then buy yourself the current edition of Writers' Market. (It might have a slightly different title in your country.) It lists all the reputable literary agents and publishers, and tells you what you need to do to attract the interest of one.

    I'm Fourteen and I'm trying to publish myself. Yeah, sure, you could get published if you know what your doing. You need to find a publisher and you need to edit your own work, unless you want an editor to do it for you.

    How can you get them published? Where can you *FIND* a publisher? Well, you need to research this stuff, because it comes with a lot of information. Though, there is a certain age, because I doubt people would let a 5 year old publish a book, unless they were a child genius.

    Also;

    "But I'm only fifteen."

    That has nothing to do with it. If you can write, you can write, if you can't... Well, I'm sure the publishers will tell you themselves... It depends on the person. If they don't like your story, you don't get upset about it, because they are only there to tell you nothing but the truth. Constructive criticism is never a bad thing... So, you find someone who *WILL* publish it, and you do it.

    Hope I helped, in some way.

    Any age you want. I remember there were some elementary kids who got the book published, age of 12 or 13 most. Not sure what grade they were in. But that's max age usually for elementary. All you have to do is find a publisher. I'm sure you can send it in to them, i got some good poetry i plan on getting published if i can create enough for a book. I suck at writing, English all together really, but i'm in accelerated or advanced some how, because my teacher said i'm good with words. Really strange, but i don't care, whatever makes me stand out to colleges better or something then i'll do it.

    you don't have to be a certain age to get books published. my cousin wrote a book that got published and she was only in 3rd or 4th grade when that happened. the book was only a few pages long, but it was a cute story. HarperCollins Publishers, Scholastic, and Yearling are very good publishing companies that have published most of my personal favorites.
