How do I convert an outboard from tiller to remote throttle/steering?
I have a small boat that needs a new outboard. I found one at a great price, but it is set up for remote steering/throttle and does not have a tiller handle. My boat does not have room to install a console with a steering wheel, so I was wondering if they make a small box that could be mounted to the side of the boat that would handle both steering and throttle.
I don't need info on specific brands or part numbers or anything. If you could maybe just post a link to a representative control box of the type I'm describing, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Depending on the model, make, year and serial number, the manufacturer of the engine might make a Tiller Handle Kit.
I know that Mercury Marine makes Tiller Handle Kits for many of there smaller outboards.
Check with your local authorized Dealer for the make of your engine.
Make sure you have the engine serial number when checking.

If it doesn't have the bracket for the tiller than No it can't. But U can mount a bracket on the side that will hold the helm and get a control box but your looking at $500. $$

3 hundred and sixty 5 days, make and kind? it may be incredibly undemanding, it may be impossible or very close to it. the greater journey you have in dealing with outboards, the better that's going to likely be. BTW the only factor in existence an fool cant do incorrect is be in a coma. yet in spite of this, in no way underestimate the capability of stupidity..... even dying mightnot be fool evidence.
