For GA Residents please - Stiffed by a licensed attorney. Paid but services not done. What is our recourse?
We have paid him 1200.00 and have the receipts. He was paid in full back in January 2011 to perform legal services. To date, he still has not done anything on the case. When I call, he always offers lip service and apologies, but he has not done anything to resolve the case. We live in Georgia. What state agency can we turn to to remedy this or get our money back?

In my opinion the best agency to start with is the Georgia State Bar Association. Their website is listed below under source. On their website is the Consumer Assistance Program with information on what to do if you believe a lawyer has broken ethics rules, which yours may have. When the Bar Association investigates the lawyer must take it seriously, as they control his right to practice law.
