How can I regrow grass?

Question

We bought a house, but the grass was bad, so after watering it came back to life. But when winter came, someone turned off the sprinklers, and the grass died. Now most of it is yellow, not gold. I've been watering it everyday, but around 90% is still yellow. Summer is about to approach, can anyone give me suggestions on how to give it life again? Such as watering times, days, or how long. There are also weeds growing.

If you live where there is winter, the grass normally goes dormant.  It does not use, nor need, much water.  if you've been watering it every day whilte it's dormant, I'm nearly certain that you've drowned it, and possibly killed it.

Stop watering.  When the weather warms up, and the grass around town starts to green up again, see if yours is showing signs of life.  If so, it may come back.  If it stays yellow, it's dead.  You'll have to rake it off and re-seed. Or lay new turf.

If it's mostly weeds, you might want to start over anyway.  Once the weeds get the upperhand, it's hard getting the grass to come back quickly.

For the weeds I would just put down weed be gone but dont apply to much !!! You should perform core aeration in the Fall and post aeration you should put down some seed (just take a sample of your grass to your local plant store and they will give you the proper seed
