How to Kill Apps in Android?

I hoped someone would know this. I just got an Android Phone (LG Optimus) which is quickly becoming my favorite toy. I love Pandora, the Internet music streaming service. But when I run it, I find there's no way to turn it off! I can go 'home' and run another app, make a phone call, use the web browser, or whatever, but Pandora remains on, and playing, in the background. There's no 'Off' button, or even a 'Help' button.

I have the same problem with MP3 playing apps. One music app will replace another, but they all just play and play.

I know there's some really simple, obvious answer to this and I'll feel stupid when I find out. So here's your chance to make me feel stupid! 8^) Anyone know what to do?

    Press MENU then press QUIT

    works for me.

Some apps will have an exit by pressing back until it exits. Some have exits from the menu, others have exits in their settings menu.

Some you just have to let Android kill them from not being used, or use a task killer or the applications kill option from the applications menu when you press Menu >Settings > Applications>Manage Applications and click the app and use Force Close if you just have to zapp it right now, without a task killer.

Use the application manager and do it manually or use third party software like Avast
