I accidentally disabled my laptop built in speakers when trying to configure the HDMI output.?

I had made HDMI sounds the default so that I could hear the sound on the TV. However, I think I disabled the built in speakers and now they don't even show up on the list of choices from the Sound Menu. How do I enable them back up? There is a red x over the speaker icon on the start toolbar next to the clock

I think this will help. Right click on the Speaker Icon in the Notification area. Click Playback Devices in the menu that pops up. Make sure the Playback Tab is selected. Right click anywhere in that window. Check Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Restart your computer. Then if that doesn't work, go to Control Panel and go to Volume or Some sort of Sound Preference. Check the output and make sure it is your built in speakers. If that doesn't work, I would assume that when HDMI is plugged in your PC doesn't allow it.
